Miss Pigeon Vintage describes items and any damage/faults in the detailed Item Description of each listing, and also highlights any known faults in the listing’s photos. What you are buying is a vintage item, meaning it has many stories and probably lots of pre-loved history behind it. Vintage is so rarely in immaculate condition because of this. Fabrics and materials deteriorate faster than modern equivalents and fixings can often be compromised by wear and tear.

The pricing of Miss Pigeon Vintage’s goods takes any damage into consideration.

The sizes of items are not given, in accordance with my business values, as described in my Size Guide. Each item has measurements clearly written in the Item Description. It is advised, again, that customers refer to Miss Pigeon Vintage’s Size Guide BEFORE buying an item, to ensure it will fit.

Asking a small business to refund an order can be detrimental to that business’s income, I ask that you consider the above before asking to return your item.

As with the Sale of Goods Act 1979, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 all products (including secondhand) must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

Miss Pigeon Vintage cannot accepts refunds on certain goods due to hygiene reasons (eg swimwear, body piercing items, underwear) and cannot accept refunds of vouchers or sale items. 

Miss Pigeon Vintage cannot accept refunds on items bought in person, seen online but bought in person, or seen in person but purchased online. It is expected that the customer will check, try on and inspect the item and has agreed it is of sufficient quality to purchase. 

Miss Pigeon Vintage cannot accept returns on items that don’t fit, as described above considering the Size Guide on the website. 

Miss Pigeon Vintage cannot accept refunds on items that have damage as described in the item details and/or photos on the website. These are made obvious to the customer and should be taken into account at point of purchase.

Miss Pigeon Vintage cannot accept returns outside of the 30 day legal requirement, as stated by UK and EU law. 

If you still wish to pursue a refund, please contact Miss pigeon Vintage on misspigeonvintage@gmail.com with the following information:

  • Name

  • Order number

  • Item description

  • Reason for return

If a refund is agreed between the customer and Miss Pigeon Vintage, it is expected that the item be returned immediately after agreement is made. The item must be unused and in the original condition that it was sold. The item must be sent in appropriate packaging to ensure that damage isn’t made in transit. Items cannot be refunded if an item is damaged in transit. Miss Pigeon Vintage reserves the right to deny a refund if the item is considered in any condition other than as it was sold. Please be reminded that all items sold remain on our website with the original photos for our reference as well as the consumer. 

The customer is responsible for paying the return postage costs and MUST obtain proof of postage and send this to Miss Pigeon Vintage to ensure both parties are aware that the item is in transit. The refund cannot be processed until it is safely in the hands of Miss Pigeon Vintage and will go through a thorough inspection to ensure the condition and quality have not been compromised. 

You will receive confirmation that the item has been received and the decision to refund or not refund will happen at this point. Any reason to not refund will be highlighted. To prevent a denied refund, please consider that damage to vintage clothing can be caused by the following:

  • Smells, such as cigarette smoke, scented deodorants and perfumes

  • Chemicals, such as deodorants, body lotions, perfumes, make up.

  • Pet hairs and claws

  • Jewellery can snag on stitching, lining, fabrics and trimmings. Please consider removing jewellery where possible. 

You will only be refunded the cost of the item. Outgoing and incoming postal costs are the responsibility of the customer. If you are returning an item from a country outside the UK, please ensure that you mark the parcel as 'returned goods' on the customs label so that a charge is not incurred, and please pay the correct postage. If a charge is incurred with customs or incorrect postage on return then Miss Pigeon Vintage will have to deduct this from your refund. 

You will be contacted when your refund has been processed. Refunds can only be given to the method of which you paid.
